After a 20-year career successfully leading the world’s top beauty brands, Mendy Charlton was on a vacation on the west coast thinking about the next chapter of her life. While biking on a mountain pass in California, there was a moment where she found herself surrounded by a kaleidoscope of butterflies. It was an inspirational moment that started a chain of events (i.e. the butterfly effect) that led to the formation of the TrueCause Alliance.

After deciding to focus her career in real estate, Mendy dedicated her energy to finding a way to give back and more specifically support vulnerable children with housing insecurity. She was looking for a unique way to turn a standard real estate transaction into something more meaningful and beneficial to society. By deciding to donate 20% of her commissions, she calculated the amazing impact just her pledge would make in enriching the lives of children within 5 years. And if other real estate professionals would make the same pledge, the change would be truly exponential. After sharing this concept with some of her real estate industry peers, the TrueCause Alliance was born.
